Caterpillar Cork Printing/Painting

We have been exploring the world of bugs for quite a few weeks now, and have really been focusing in on caterpillars and butterflies as we watch our 5 caterpillars from Insect Lore really grow!

One of the art exploration projects we did was to make caterpillars by painting with corks. For this project, the children chose thier own background paper, and had an opportunity to explore printing or painting with corks. Some of them spent quite a bit of time exploring how different sides of the cork made different shapes.

One of the papers even ended up with a hole in the middle, where apparently- the caterpillar munched right on through it!

I've had corks lying around forever, hoping to get my son to print or paint with them, and all he ever wants to do is glue them into a collage. These kids did such a great job - I love all the different artwork created using the same thing! Thank you for linking up!
